The American Red Cross raised its initial pledge of support for Chile’s recovery to $500,000 and is now accepting monetary donations specifically for the response in Chile, following an international request for assistance from the Chilean Red Cross.

Miami, FL (February 25, 2010) — In just over one month since the earthquake in Haiti, the Red Cross has helped more than 1.3 million people and will continue to aid hundreds of thousands more in the months ahead until the last donated dollar is spent.

On March 27, American Red Cross is hosting a massive CPR training at the City of Marathon Fire Station #14 (airport) on U.S. Highway 1 in Marathon. The “CPR-A-Thon in Marathon” will have several trainers available, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., to enable dozens of people to be trained all in one day, in a relaxed, festive atmosphere. The cost is reduced to $25 each.
