The American Red Cross Greater Miami & The Keys together with the University of Miami’s Institute for Cuban and Cuban American Studies (ICCAS) and other non-profit organizations have created an integrated humanitarian response plan for the South Florida community that would be implemented in the event of change in Cuba that affects our community.
The South Florida Humanitarian Network for Cuba (SFHN) was created on December 4, 2004. The work of the SFHN is documented in the “Recommendations for Community Preparedness” report which was made public in June, 2006. It should be noted, however, that the work and participation of the American Red Cross of Greater Miami & The Keys in the South Florida Humanitarian Network for Cuba would focus on humanitarian assistance in South Florida only.
