The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization led by volunteers that provides relief to disaster victims and helping people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. As an international organization acting on its own principles void of influences of other organizations, it is the American Red Cross that has become synonymous with relief efforts throughout the globe. Those global issues are local issues that have formed the foundation for a new arm of the organization called Young Professionals of the Red Cross (YPRC).

YPRC was established in 2005 in Miami-Dade County. The goal of YPRC is to provide an opportunity for the next generation of volunteers and service-minded individuals to give back to their community. As membership grows, so will the group’s ability to truly make a difference. YPRC encourages young professionals to become active in the community through civic participation and by spreading the mission of the American Red Cross.
